This summer when I was showing friends of Houston the new version of the iconic Hôtel de Paris, we had the pleasant surprise of discovering Le Patio. I had already seen it but in a non-animated version. But there were tables and armchairs to welcome us and we were able to take advantage of this magical place in the open air.

This winter, since December 6, the Patio has been hosting a Christmas village with a chic and wintry allure for Christmas: 5 greenhouses where luxury and tradition mingle, delicacies and crafts, shopping and entertainment, have been set up at amidst firs and palm trees. On the program: festivities, shopping and numerous workshops (floral, perfume, wool, illustration, ceramic, gourmet). The workshops – fun, informative and friendly – are led by professionals selected for their talent and their ability to transmit their know-how and their passion.

Fridays and Saturdays, this is the ideal place to come for an aperitif: the Patio offers late-night openings until 9 p.m. with artistic and musical performances. You can even book private dinners there under the main greenhouse! New and exclusive experience! Hurry up it’s fleeting! Until January 5!

Personally, it was to the gourmet workshops that I wanted to let myself be carried! Learn the Barbajans recipe – the Monegasque specialty par excellence – Hotel de Paris style! A workshop in the heart of the Patio! For the record, the Barbajan was born from Uncle Jean who had no sauce for his ravioli and who decided to fry them. The guests were pleasantly surprised and the recipe took root. “Barba” in dialect means uncle and Jan: Jean. There are several versions but the Hôtel de Paris version remains my favorite. Moreover, the recipe was presented to us by Ken Thomas, Head of the Sweet Pole and Jean-François Adij, 2nd expert clerk in barbajans but I will not be able to communicate it to you because it must be kept secret …

A friendly moment, full of anecdotes, in a good mood in a dream setting! Without forgetting to tell you that this enchanting setting was created by Christine Marchal of Madame Ernest. A real fairy of good taste!
