You know my keen interest in decoration so it was with great pleasure that I went to meet Shelley Walker, interior designer in the Principality for almost 20 years.
Shelley was born in England and soon her parents moved to Paris, then, at the age of 8, in the Principality. That’s when she integrates the Ladies of St Maur on the Rock, where she will do all her schooling. Very young, she already had a passion for drawing and it is at Pavillon Bosio that she spent all her Wednesday afternoons.
“It’s a place that makes you want to learn art”
She knows very quickly that she wants to orient her career in art. Her High school diploma -art history- in the pocket, she follows a preparation for fine arts and is admitted to the Van der Kelen Institute, a renowned decoration school in Belgium. She specializes in Interior Design. Back in the Principality, she begins her career as an interior decorator, first in collaboration with a friend, then flies on her own. After the birth of her daughter, she sets up her showroom in the heart of the Condamine, rue de la Turbie.
Shelley does not follow more than two projects at a time which allows her a great availability for her customers. She is very attentive and never imposes a decoration. She builds it with her clients according to their desires, their interests, their way of life.
Her style: warm contemporary with an English tendency. Passionate about fabrics, it’s often them which inspire her and lead her towards the overall design of the project. She also likes wallpaper and painting. Her colors: beige and taupe. She mixes styles sparingly. She wants a chic, sober and timeless rendering.
Her little tips for next summer trends: it will be navy blue and white, with natural materials.
Her motto :
“We can not change the world, but we can change decoration”
Today she shares her 10 best addresses in the Principality.

Bonjour,
Lorsque Mme Walker parle de la Terrasse du Yacht Club; est-ce qu'il faut etre membre pour y aller ?
Merci,
